God Shaped Hole

I have been watching people's behavior lately and the more I watch and the more I read scripture, the more I think people have a God shaped hole inside of them. The weird thing is watching them try to fill that hole with things other than God. Some chase after money or power. Some try to the best in their careers while others try to the very best at their hobbies. The whole try to keep up with the Jones I think is a way of making yourself feel good about yourself even though there is this big empty hole inside. Some look for chemical filling and others go after sex of all kinds to fill that need. It is not that I see myself as super Christian or that my life is perfect. I still fight with trying to make myself feel better with things and activities. God is what is needed for those times. As St Paul wrote, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We need Christ to fill that hole sin has ripped in our souls.
